5-Axis Linkage

5-Axis Function Introduction

Unlike traditional 3-axis machining, which only allows linear movement, 5-axis linkage enables more complex trajectory motion through multi-axis coordination. This is used for machining complex workpieces, reducing clamping times, lowering time costs, and improving production efficiency.

The function modules are divided into five main parts: Camera Calibration, Glue Gun Calibration, Laser Calibration, 5-Axis Calibration, and Trajectory Programming.
 
5-axis calibration offers three methods: manual calibration, automatic calibration, and calibration plate calibration.
 
  • Manual Calibration: Manually move the U1 and U2 axes to take points (at least five points on each axis), then perform camera calibration.
  • Automatic Calibration: Uses automation technology to calibrate, identify, or position equipment parameters, states, or positions. Its core logic relies on sensors, algorithms, or preset programs, requiring no manual intervention.
  • Calibration Plate Calibration: Uses the known correspondence between physical coordinates and image coordinates on a calibration plate to solve for internal parameters (e.g., focal length, distortion) or external parameters (e.g., rotation matrix, translation vector) of the device, achieving precision calibration for measurement or imaging.

3D Glue Path Inspection Function Introduction

3D vision dispensing integrates advanced 3D vision technology with precision dispensing control, a core technology for improving dispensing accuracy and efficiency. This function quickly scans the workpiece surface via 3D vision sensors to obtain high-precision 3D model data, accurately identifying the spatial position and surface morphology of complex curved and irregular workpieces.

The 3D glue path inspection function uses a 3D line scan camera to capture 3D point clouds, detecting whether the glue path height, width, and other parameters meet specifications.

Steps to Add a Path:
  • Click Programming.
  • Select 3D Glue Path Inspection.
  • Click Add Path.
  • A 3D scanning path setting interface will pop up; click to enable the laser (the laser camera emits a laser line, adjust the scan position along the line, scanning along the X-axis for the X direction and Y-axis for the Y direction).
  • Move the 3D camera to the start and end points and capture.
  • Set the scan speed (default 20mm/s) and select the motion axis (select X-axis if the 3D camera is parallel to the X-axis, Y-axis if parallel to the Y-axis).
  • To check 3D point cloud limits without knowing the product range: first set the scan coordinates, then click Detection to generate a point cloud. The point cloud displays the minimum and maximum heights of the scanned object, with different colors representing different planes (specific height values shown on the right). Set the detection plane as needed.
  • Height Grayscale Settings: 255 = white, 0 = black.Image preprocessing has three options (enable by checking the box):
  • Mean Filter: A normalized square filter, effective for suppressing periodic interference noise.
  • Median Filter: A non-linear smoothing filter, commonly used to remove salt-and-pepper noise, preserving signal edges while eliminating noise.
  • Gaussian Filter: A linear smoothing filter, highly effective for suppressing normally distributed noise.
  • Point Cloud Settings: Used for image flipping (default: no flip).
  • Height Limit Settings: Set based on the upper and lower limits of the 3D point cloud.
  • After all parameters are set, click Save.

Asynchronous Dual Valve Function Introduction

The asynchronous dual valve function allows two sets of valves in a dispensing machine to operate independently and asynchronously, improving production efficiency and flexibility. Unlike traditional single-valve dispensing, this technology enables simultaneous, non-interfering dispensing tasks on one device. It is ideal for complex workflows, especially when multiple dispensing points or different materials are processed on the same production line.

Before calibration, ensure all axes are homed; reset if necessary.

  • Dual Valve Calibration: Move XY to a target point, dispense glue from both valves, then move XY to align the camera with the dispensing points. Record the positions and calculate offsets.
  • Product Calibration: Move XY to align the view center with the master and slave products, record their positions, and calculate offsets.
 
After calibration, edit the trajectory for the main product.
